Directory-Overview-3

Visiting

Openness to visitors is listed from some established households.

Seekers may want to visit a community.

Vacancies

Vacancies are listed from established households.

Seekers are looking for a vacancy in an established home.  If you're applying for a vacancy you can create a Seeker listing which you can then share when you're applying for a vacancy.  Having a profile will help to showcase details about you, your values, and what you're looking for.

Community Forming

People seeking to live in a cooperative household consist of Founder(s) and Seekers.

Founders are the ones that propose the start of a cooperative house and lead the way and organize the details. Typically, they dissolve as the group starts to function cohesively on its own.

Founders may also create a "Community Forming" listing which will be linked to their profile.

This listing can be one of several ownership types:

Rental Home
For finding a rental home to form a household in. This home type is most accessible to many since homeownership is not available for everyone.

Owned Home (already owned or looking to purchase)
For those that own a home or are interested in purchasing one for creating a cooperative household. Residents rent out rooms.

Co-Owned Home (looking for co-owner to purchase with)
For those that are interested in finding others to co-purchase a home with for creating a cooperative household. Residents rent out rooms.

Seekers are looking for a vacancy in an established home or desire to join a household once it's formed.  They won't be partaking in the developing stage.

Sidenote: When creating a profile you can select both Founder and Pioneer to indicate that you're flexible and open to options.
